Parked Domains

What is domain parking?
Domain names are being registered all the time so if you have thought of a cool domain name for a future project then it might be wise to register it now because there is a chance that someone else might register it before you. While planning your site you can park the domain name with phpHostingDeals.com and leave it until you are ready to use it. You may choose a parking page, which your site's visitors will see, or choose your parked domain to redirect them to a different web address.

Domain parking is a process where you register a domain with us and then do not use our domain name servers. This means that if you type your domain name into a web browser you will arrive at a default page provided by phpHostingDeals.com.

How do I park my domain name?
Before you proceed you should choose one of the two available options. You can either use a predefined template where you can place your own text or redirect your visitors to a completely different web address.

If you choose the Template option, you can select beetween three categories each one offering two template types. Check the previews and then type a desired text to be displayed. To redirect your visitors, choose the Web address option and fill in a URL.

Floating Domains

Your domain name can be with status 'floating' in your account. This means that you neigther have it hosted nor parked. Such domain names are usually those, which you have just registered or transferred. Another example is a domain, which you have removed from the 'Hosted Domains' section. You can host a floating domain and create a website and e-mail addresses with it or you can park it for future online activities. Note that you cannot use such domains unless you choose one of the two options.

How do I change the type of a domain?
It is easy to switch types, just click on the icon and you will be able to choose what to do next with that particular domain. We recommend you to host it in your account as you can create any website you like.

Expiring Domains

My domain name is expiring. What do I do?
If you'd like to keep the website and e-mails running, you should renew the domain's registration as soon as you can. If the domain expires, you will still be able to renew it in a period of a month. Afterwards, the domain will fall into the so called redemtion period and there will be a penalty fee in case of renewal request. If you leave to expire, shortly after the redemption period everyone will be able to register your domain.

Expired Domains

A domain name has just expired. What happens next?
Currenlty, the website and all e-mail addresses associated with that domain are not working. If you have registered own name servers (DNS) or have added any subdomains, they are now offline as well. The domain name itself is the core around which orbit all the services. You will have 30 days to renew the domain registration. If you do not wish to use it, simply leave it to expire. If you'd like to keep the website and e-mails running, hurry up and renew the domain as soon as possible. Otherwise, it will fail in redemption period and shortly after be available for registration by someone else.
